Before I get into the blog post, I would like to announce the birth of my baby boy! Noah Christopher Shelley was born on July 2, 2013. He is the most amazing and precious gift God has ever given me. My wife and I are so filled with joy we can hardly contain ourselves!!!
For the past few months I have been writing and re-writing music for the next album and I am very excited about how it’s coming. This is the most amount of time I have ever put into the writing process and I have to say it is definitely paying off. Writing worship music is such an interesting process. While catchy lyrics and fancy chord structures are nice, the goal of worship is to draw people into the presence of God. As a worship artist, I take my calling very seriously. I know that the more I pour into both my personal worship and the writing process, the more God will bless the music. In the past, I had been so eager to release new music that I often missed out on really making it all it could be. It was very hard not releasing a new album last year, but I know that the wait will be worth it!
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.- Psalm 37:7-9
Our goal is to have a new single out by September and to release a new album late fall. I can’t wait to share the music with you all!
